For people who dont know, I transfered from Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe and I moved down to La Mirada in Orange County, CA to attend the private christian school Biola University. Since day one the Biola experience has been amazing and a blessing. It also may seem for people back home that I have dropped off the side of the earth, but no Im still here and living the dream. Heres what has been going on since the end of August...
I moved August 21st into my dorm room. My roommate John is a stud and very laid back guy, we get along great. I switched my major from Film to Communications with Drama emphasis and I am thinking of minoring is psychology. The first few weeks were very stressful because I was unsure what I was gonna do in order to make a payment to stay at Biola. I was blessed by a family who called and payed the rest of the bill for the first semester and it was amazing and let me breathe a little. I started classes on August 27th and I enjoy most of them. Old Testament is a strait swift kick in the junk but ill live. My psychology class is the shizz and probably my favorite. Its very different to have a class with 487 people in it because there is more kids in that one class then there was at my old school SNC, but I dig it.
Southern California has lots of beautiful girls, along with Biola itself. There is a great girl to guy ratio of 4 to 1, but I have to be careful because there are those psycho clingy girls who are on the prowl and want their "ring by spring," which they aren't getting from me anytime soon. Since day 1 I have been a social butterfly and have met so many people. I am now known as Ryan Reynolds look-a-like or his little brother. Sometimes I get introduced to people, mostly ladies, as his little brother, which I have found to be a very good thing, but of course I eventually tell them the real deal.
I have a pretty tight group of guys on which I live on my floor with. We are one of the smallest floors on campus with only 16 guys and our brotherhood is very tight. I live next to my RA, which for some people may seem bad, but its not and he is the greatest guy I have met so far. I also have a really tight group of friends who I spend lots of time with. I have had some of the greatest and the most hilarious times with them.
I am involved with the dance team called XOPOC (zo-pock) and its been pretty fun. We have 4 different performances, they should be killer.
Other then school I have been meeting up with buddies and connections from all over Los Angeles and San Diego, meeting tons more people, having great times, and I guess you could say spreading my name all over. Since this is more of a "Intro" blog post I just wanted to give everyone a little break down on how things are so far. Keep looking for new post and updates and reading them!
Sounds like your kinda place. Can't wait to visit and kick it with you. It's been too long..
